Utah is filled with natural beauty everywhere you look. The state has several "scenic byways" but really, almost every road I drove on was simply breathtaking. Here are a few of the amazing places I discovered on my tour of this magnificent state.
Located in Italy's southern region of Basilicata, Matera is one of the most interesting and unusual cities in all of Italy. Never heard of it? I'm not surprised. This still relatively unknown town is one of Southern Italy's best kept secrets - but not for long! Matera has been inhabited for 9,000 years and is best known for its extensive cave-dwelling districts, the sassi. It's stunning beauty and storied history will make a lasting impression on each and every visitor.

Arches National Park is located just outside the quirky little town of Moab, Utah. Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, this red-rock wonderland is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including its poster-child, the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch. I'd seen plenty of photos of the stunning arches and knew I wanted to plan a visit, but nothing could prepare me for how breathtaking this park really is. It's truly nothing short of spectacular! When most people think about a trip to Italy, they picture the canals of Venice, the Duomo in Florence, the ruins in Rome or the breathtaking cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. But those who dare to venture even further south are in for an amazing treat if they are wise enough to add the charming little town of Tropea to their list!
Rudyard Kipling called Milford Sound the "Eighth Wonder of the World." I have to agree. If you are visiting New Zealand's South Island, you absolutely must make time for a cruise through one of the most breathtaking places I've ever visited.
